What is RSS?

What is RSS? This acronym stands for really simple syndication. This technology proves helpful for creating email campaigns and generating website feeds.

How does this work?

When you publish a blog post, your RSS feed pulls in your post’s information. So the title, published date, and description information for your posts feed your really simple syndication. So as you publish posts, your RSS feed updates real time.

This RSS feed may then be utilized by different applications such as Mailchimp. Mailchimp has an email campaign that reads RSS and will auto-deliver emails for you. So when you publish blog posts, Mailchimp gathers this information by means of your RSS feed and then sends out a weekly email of your previous week’s posts.
