Target-specific email campaign pinpoint your audience’s preferences so your email will be more effective. Because they are focused, there are fewer email addresses to send to. But the open rate will be higher because your email is being strategically sent to a targeted demographic.
How does this work? Mailchimp, a free email campaign tool, allows you to send out target-specific email campaigns. Their email list provides custom field where you can import important information like gender and address information about your constituency. Once you import this data, Mailchimp allows you to query your list and send out emails to certain demographics.
For example, if you have an upcoming event geared for men, then you can query your email list and select only those emails marked as “male.” You can then send out your email to just men. And since your targeted audience is men, your email will likely be shorter in length than the traditional enewsletter that crams in way too much information into one email. The result will likely be a higher email open rate and thereby higher attendance to your event.
